The Big Move and Le Cordon Bleu

Kaleb and the U-Haul on Moving Day

Our New Home

Well I'm slightly embarrassed to say it has now been almost 4 months since I updated my blog. I have a million excuses why but the biggest one of them all is that my computer has crashed probably 6 times since then. We're hoping that we finally have the problem fixed and with a little faster Internet I am finally able to log on here again and give you all updates.

We made the big move to Las Vegas about 3 weeks ago. We were VERY sad to leave our home and all our family and friends but we know that with all this sacrificing we are working towards a very bright and happy future for our family. The move went a lot more smoothly than I thought it would. With the help of some friends from church we had the U-Haul loaded and were on the road within about an hour. Kaleb was very excited about the big truck his daddy was driving to "Las Begas", as he refers to it. He discovered how cool it is to have a new bedroom and I am happy to say that he is finally sleeping by himself at night! It is so nice to not have 3 people crammed in our bed anymore!!! Andie is loving the stairs. She has learned to go up them very quickly and has only fallen down them once (with the help of her brother). She waves bye-bye, claps and says quite a few words. Her favorites are: thanks, mama, bubba, dada and she has her own version of the Sponge Bob Squarepants song. She sings it every time it comes on tv. It is hilarious.

Jeff is absolutely loving school. He is starting his 3rd week there tomorrow. So far he has done a lot of potato peeling, carrot dicing, onion chopping and tons of other things with his fancy new knives. He got to cook pork loin, mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts a few nights ago. I hear they were delicious but can't say for sure since I didn't get to try it. I informed him that he better start bringing home samples for me to enjoy. Right now they are doing a lot of book work so he is anxious to get into the kitchen and cook a lot more. He hasn't been able to transfer to the Costco down here yet so we have been able to spend a lot of time with him at home. It has been nice to have his help with the kids as I try to get us settled into our new house. I have just about everything unpacked now with the exception of our tiny garage which is a total disaster. It is so small we cant even fit one car into it. But its nice to have for storage since our original plan was to rent a storage unit in St George and leave most of our stuff there. We feel very blessed to have found this home. It is in a great neighborhood away from the craziness of Vegas. We look forward to going to church here and being able to meet new people.

Overall things are working out very well. We're just trying to take it all one day at a time. We've had a lot of fun driving around and discovering all the fun things there are to do here in Vegas. This has been quite an adventure for us and we look forward to whatever the next 2 years will bring.
