So much to blog about.........This is a long one!

Well I haven't updated my blog for over a month for several reasons. First of all because my computer NEVER cooperates and is in great danger of being thrown out the window and secondly because we have been so busy I just havent had any free time.

We started off October with a much needed trip to California. Jeff's grandparents live there and we hadnt been to see them in almost 2 years. We spent almost a week with them and had a great time. We did some shopping since my kids had outgrown all their clothes and were starting to look like little orphans. We also spent a wonderful day at Newport beach which the kids absolutely loved. It was great to put Andie down in the sand and just watch her crawling all over and laughing like it was the greatest thing she had done in her short little life. Kaleb loved the waves most of all. I loved hunting for seashells until I realized Kaleb was throwing them all back. It was an amazing day until we hit rush hour traffic on the way back to Fontana. It took us 2 1/2 hours to drive what should have taken 15 minutes! Oh the joys of California! So we topped off the trip with a necessary stop at IKEA and the Orange County Swap Meet. Overall it was wonderful to get away for a while and spend some time with Grandma and Grandpa Anderson. They are amazing people.

Then before we knew it, it was back to reality. For those of you who don't know, Jeff has enrolled in Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Vegas. It is a dream of his that he never really thought would come true but we decided that if it was what he truly wanted to do we needed to make it happen. So as soon as we returned home I was faced with having to prepare for Halloween with my whole family coming to town, Andrea's first birthday and the upcoming move. Oh and not to mention the holiday boutique that I had at my house the week I got back. Can we say STRESS OVERLOAD!!! So my friend Jenny and I had the boutique which I think turned out adorable. We wished the turnout would have been better but it was still a lot of fun. I spent the next week after that making 6 Halloween costumes and preparing for company. My family all arrived the day before Halloween and my little sister Tiffany surprised me and brought along my sweet little niece Brooklynn who is now 4 months old. It was so great to get to see them. My parents and my other sisters were all here as well along with my other sweet niece Lexi. It was a crazy weekend with a very full house but we had a great time. We had a birthday party on Halloween for Andie and then we all went trick or treating afterwards. They stayed until Monday and all left just in time for me to put my house all back together and prepare for Andie's birthday party with friends and Jeff's family. Needless to say, by the end of that night I thought I could go to bed and sleep for a month! But there's no rest for the weary so off to work I went the next day. (I need to add though that it was only one work day and then I got a 6 day vacation which was wonderful.)

So, that Wednesday we decided to drive down to Vegas so Jeff could talk with the Warehouse Manager at the Summerlin Costco about transferring. Our original plan was to move down there by the 1st of December and he would be starting school on January 4th. As you can see this left me less than a month to get our house rented out, find a place to live and all the other wonderful things that go along with moving. So, he talked to the manager and found out that he wouldn't be able to transfer until after the first of the year. Then we called the school just to touch base and found out that something had gone wrong with our financial aid applications and he was on "Cancel" status at the school. So, to make a long story short this has all bought me at least one more if not two more months to prepare for everything and one more holiday in our home. He is now scheduled to start school on February 16th. I am so proud of him for wanting to go back to school and do something that will both make him happy and support our family. He hopes to someday open a restaurant of his own and I hope he knows I will be by his side every step of the way.

So things have calmed down a bit and I was able to spend the last week working on Christmas presents. We decided this year to go as simple as possible since the kids are still young and really won't understand. I have tried to make as many of their gifts as I can, aside from the gifts Santa will be bringing. So far I have made a bunch of play food out of felt and will be making a play stove and sink out of felt as well (thanks to Kacey for finding the idea). I am also making Kaleb a set of "Where the Wild Things Are" hand puppets since that is his and Jeff's absolute favorite book. And last but not least I am making Kaleb a bowling set out of Gerber Puffs containers. I will post pics soon. I have 5 more days off coming up so I should be able to get it all finished up soon! If anyone has any good homemade gift ideas please pass them my way. I am always searching for new things to create.

Well, I am sure your eyes are burning by now from staring at the screen so long to read this! I will try to be better at updating this so my posts aren't so long in the future. Thanks to all of you for taking the time to read this and for being so loving and supportive of our family. We are truly blessed to have you all in our lives!

My Grandpa

So my grandpa got this monster buck this week in Nevada. You can tell by the look on his face how proud he is of it. Grandpa lives for hunting. So many of the memories I have of him as a child are of him hunting or fishing. He shot his first deer when he was 11 in Hollister California. He still has it hanging on his wall in his room with the newspaper article written about him.

My grandpa is an amazing man. He is so funny and such a hard worker. As a child, when my mom was sick, my sister and I would stay out at the ranch with him while my grandma took my mom to treatments. We loved every minute of it. After my mom passed away, we lived with my grandparents for a while. They sacrificed so much for us. We were so sad when they moved to Montana but have had many great trips to see them since then.

I hope that my children will have the opportunity to get to know them better and know how truly blessed we are to have been born into their family. Although they probably won't read this I just want them to know how much I love them and appreciate all they have done for me in my life.

A Fall Boutique and A Total Meltdown

Well most of you know that I am hosting a fall boutique at my house on Oct. 23rd. It should be a fun night. So far we'll have Scentsy, Cookie Lee Jewelry, Pamered Chef, Bows, Nursing Covers and Slings and lots of other fun girlie stuff. It has also been a lot of work though. I feel like my life is in fastforward right now and I can't slow it down. I've been under quite a bit of stress lately with the upcoming move and having no idea how thats going to work out. Plus the thought of my husband being in school and at work all day everyday...ugh. I am trying so hard to be Super Wife, Super Mom, Super Friend, Super Employee, Super Nursery Leader and on and on. It's just not working out for me! This is all what lead to my total melt down last night and a realization that I just can't do it all. As of right now I have 21 things on a to-do list and I have to get all of that done before Wednesday when we head to California on a much needed vacation.
I guess I am rambling because my heads not on straight but all I am trying to say is please forgive me if I've been a monster lately. And PLEASE try to come to my boutique. I'm not trying to guilt you into it, I would just be devestated if no one came after all I have put into it. I will be hanging flyers on doors today and have plenty more if you know of someone who would like to come or would like to be a part of it. Thanks so much for all being such great friends and family and for supporting our family in all we do. We love you all so much!

Here's another picture of some Halloween pieces I finished today. Andie's costume and "1UP" candy bag, Kaleb's "Star" Candy bag and Jeff's Luigi hat. I can't believe how much work this is turning out to be. It all seems so simple but it is taking soooooo long. I know it will be worth it in the end though!

Life's Simple Pleasures

So today my husband and I actually had a day off together. This hardly ever happens anymore. It was so nice to wake up squished in between him and Kaleb. I love mornings when we can lay in bed and watch cartoons and not have to get up to be anywhere. I know that these are the little moments that we will look back at and cherish forever.

Andie's Costume

Well we decided for Halloween this year we would dress up as the Super Mario characters. We were planning on it last year but since I was so HUGE and pregnant and miserable, I spent most of Halloween on the couch, sitting on a heating pad! So this year Kaleb will be Mario, Jeff will be Luigi, I will be Princess Peach and Andie will be a mushroom. I worked on Andie's costume today and just got it finished. I think she will be the cutest mushroom ever!

Time Flies When You're in Love

I can't believe it but today we are celebrating our 4th Wedding Anniversary. In the last week I have thought of a million things I could write on here. I could pour out my heart and write a sappy poem or tell our "Love Story" or list all the reasons I love Jeff. But in the end I realized that the great thing about Jeff is that he's a man of few words. That can be frustrating at times but I love the fact that even though he's not an openly emotional guy, I can look in his eyes and know that he loves me. I can still picture in my mind the way he looked at me as I walked down the aisle. And even though the last four years of our life together havent been perfect, I still catch that look on his face and it lets me know that no matter what I will always be his and he will always be mine. Together we have created two beautiful children and I look forward to the day we will all go to the temple to be sealed for all eternity. Jeff, you are an amazing dad, an amazing husband and a great friend. The simple truth is that I love you, I need you and I will always be by your side.

The Heart Of My Home

So I came across this quote tonight in another blog I was reading and there was something about it that I loved. Thought I would share it with you!
"Home is a place where we welcome each family member with a sense of belonging. Home is a place where we are free to bring the fullness of our womanhood to bear in every sphere of our life. A womans place is in the heart- the heart of her husband, the heart of her children and the heart of her home. Home is a refuge that we create for every family member. Homemaking is a call to express fully our personhood and thereby enable every member of the family to understand his or her dignity and worth. I am the queen of my realm. I am the heart of my home." My Latest Diaper Cake

So I LOVE to make diaper cakes. I think they are the most adorable thing ever. This is the latest one I made for my neighbor who just had a sweet baby boy over the weekend. It is a little hard to see but it has cute little sayings all over it that she can use for his scrapbook. I can't wait to make another one!

It's Official

Sione and Felipe Fa- Biggest Loser Season 7

Sione just told me I was stinky from working out!
(I hope he was kidding)

Sione, Mike and Felipe

Well it's official, I have finally lost 10 pounds since the Biggest Loser Bootcamp!

I did the bootcamp at the beginning of June. It was hosted by Sione and Felipe Fa from Season 7 of the Biggest Loser (one of my all-time favorite shows). It was 3 days of a lot of hard work and a lot of sweat. I loved it though. They teamed up with a group from St George called Eva Zing. They are a group of people who counsel families and individuals in many areas. Financial, emotional, spiritual, physical and many more. Their main purpose and goal is to bring families together, strengthen them and help them succeed. They did a lot of motivational speeking, team building exercises and a nutrition class. Sione and Felipe were so much fun to work out with. They told us a lot about their experience on the show and the challenges they have faced since they have been home. Another contestant named Mike came one of the days as well. If you watched the show, he was the 18 year old that was on it with his dad. His younger brother Max, who is staying here in St George at Fitness Ridge Resort was also there working out with us. They also had one of the producers from the Biggest Loser there filming the entire 3 days. So maybe you will see me working my butt off on Season 8! (I really hope not though!)

Overall it was an amazing experience. I have learned a lot of valuable tips that have so far gotten me to where I am today. 10 pounds lighter and a lot more confident about myself!

Time Marches On

Well here we are again and it is already August! I can't believe it. We have had a busy few weeks so I thought I would catch everyone up.

I took the kids to Nevada two weeks ago to visit my parents and sisters. It was a very long drive by myself with the two kids. After about 8 stops, lots of crying, a broken DVD player and 10 hours, we made it! Kaleb was so excited to see his aunties. We did so much that week. We went swimming, saw the new Harry Potter movie, played at the park, watched Grandma Fretwell perform in "Pirates of Penzance" and much more. Probably the most exciting part of the trip was getting to meet my new sweet niece Brooklynn Nevaeh for the first time. Tiffany had her on July 2nd. She is a beautiful baby and Tiff and Paul are such wonderful parents. They are so cute with her. I am so proud of them and know that Brooklynn will be well taken care of.
Kaleb loved playing with the goats and helped feed the chickens every morning. He wouldn't let the cats out of his sight and I think they all breathed a sigh of relief when we left. He really wants a cat of his own now.

So after 8 days away we headed back home to see daddy. The kids were so good on the trip home and it only took us about 9 hours. Jeff had been up in Salt Lake City for a few days spending time with a friend and his sister and her new husband. So, needless to say, it was wonderful to return home as a family and get back to everyday life.

Andie turned 9 months on the 2nd. She sat up for the first time while at my parents house and she gets up on her knees and sways back and forth trying to crawl. So far she can scoot herself backwards but I am sure it is only a matter of time before she starts crawling all over the house. She went for a check up at the Dr this week also. She is now almost 17 lbs! I can't believe it. She was so little for so long and now she is growing like a weed.

Kaleb is still being his funny little self. He has started talking a lot more since he spent the week with his aunties. Some of his favorite things to say are "Oh my gosh!" and "Are you kidding me?"
He absolutely loves Mario and Luigi and talks about them all day long. His favorite game on the wii is Super Mario Galaxy. He was so excited when we were in Nevada to sit outside one night watching the stars and waiting to see the space shuttle passing overhead. He kept saying "Super Mario's in the spaceship". I don't think he will ever forget it.

So now we are home, things have settled down a bit and we are trying to relax. I think we will take the next few months to work on projects around the house. We are going to start landscaping our backyard once it cools down a bit and I am working on refinishing our bedroom furniture and doing some painting in the house. I will post some before and after pics once I get everything done.

My Little Harry Potter

So for the last 2 months I have been reading the Harry Potter books. It is my first time reading them and I absolutely love them. So much so that I cant put them down and find myself staying up for hours after everyone has gone to bed and taking every second I can during the day to pick up my book and read another page. After I finish a book Jeff and I watch the movie together. We just watched "The Order of the Pheonix" last night and I am now reading "The Half Blood Prince" so I can go see the movie next week with my sisters. Kaleb now recognizes Harry Potter everywhere we go. Movie posters, books in the store and even brooms. He thinks all brooms belong to Harry Potter. A few days ago he was playing in our backyard and when I peaked out the back window he was riding a broom around the yard. He also talks about him constantly. Just this morning we were laying in bed and I said "You're silly Kaleb" and he said "I not Bub-Bub, I Harry Potter!" Then a little bit later we were trying to teach him our first and last names and when I asked him what my name was he said, of course, "Harry Potter". So maybe he will have to be a little Harry Potter for Halloween this year. I guess we will wait and see.

4th of July Fun!

What a great 4th of July!
We started our day off at the park where they had
a bounce house, races, a train ride and snow cones.
Kaleb loved it all. He got to run in the races for the
very first time and even though he didnt come in first
he was so proud of himself. Andie had a good time just
basking in the sun. After that we went home and relaxed
for a while. Then we went and had a big block
party with all our great neighbors. It was
so much fun. We had tons of food, a pool, squirt guns,
a mini bounce house, water baloons, and so much more!
We love our neighborhood so much and can't
imagine living anywhere else. Thank you all so
much for being so good to our family.

Summer Fun

Andie on our Memorial Day Camping Trip
Kaleb ready to go on a camping trip with daddy! Enjoying the pool with his buddies!

Well, here we are. I have finally started to figure out this blog and now I can keep you all updated on our family.

It's safe to say summer has arrived with the temperature reaching 108 yesterday! Lately we have spent a lot of time indoors enjoying the air conditioning! We also swim whenever we get the chance. We have tried to escape the heat a few times with a camping trip to Otter Creek Memorial Day weekend and a trip to Salt Lake last week for my sister-in-laws wedding. Jeff also took Kaleb on his first father and sons campout not too long ago. They had a blast.

Other than that we are busy working and doing all we can to provide for our sweet children. Life gets crazy sometimes but the last few months have taught us to count our blessings and not take anything for granted.
